California Business for Education Excellence (CBEE) uses the power of data to improve
public education and close the achievement gap. CBEE is a leading, unifying voice
for business focused on the rapid improvement of our state's public schools. With
an ambitious, targeted reform agenda CBEE seeks to dramatically increase the academic
preparedness for college and the workforce of all students. We approach this in
three ways:
- Inform the business community about the education crisis created by the
persistent achievement gap and the loss in GDP caused by the lack of academic
preparedness for college and the workplace. Through a unified business voice,
we inform policymakers and education leaders of the opportunities to improve
outcomes based on what is working today in high performing schools.
- Influence the state's education policy agenda and create the conditions for
statewide reform by leveraging the power and collective voice of the business
community. This includes advocating for effective education policy through a
common sense agenda of high standards and college readiness, accountability, the
effective use of data and promoting proven success.
- Improve education systems and practices through a business-like
approach to education reform through actionable data, benchmarking and scaling
success of higher performing schools.
